Questions
Everything you need to know about CAPE RE's energy solutions, assessment process, and how we help businesses transition to clean energy.
General Questions
CAPE RE is an integrated clean energy solutions provider. We help commercial and industrial facilities evaluate, design, and implement renewable energy systems—specifically Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage (BESS), and Energy Management Systems (EMS)—to reduce electricity costs and achieve sustainability goals.
No. We are technology-agnostic. As the green energy arm of Cape EMS Berhad (a major electronics manufacturer), we leverage our manufacturing expertise to select and integrate the best-in-class hardware that suits your specific site requirements and budget.
We primarily serve commercial buildings, manufacturing plants, warehouses/logistics hubs, and energy-intensive facilities. Any organisation looking to optimise high electricity consumption or meet ESG targets can benefit from our solutions.
Energy Assessment
It starts with understanding your load profile. You can use our online calculator for a quick indicative estimate, or engage our team for a detailed engineering-backed study. We analyse your electricity bills, site constraints, and operational goals to model the right combination of Solar PV and BESS.
Yes, ideally 12 months of historical bills or interval load data (for larger facilities). This allows us to accurately model your peak demand, consumption patterns, and the potential savings from peak shaving or solar self-consumption.
We offer a complimentary high-level assessment based on your initial data. For a full engineering review—which involves site surveys and detailed system design—there is a professional fee, which can often be credited back if you proceed with the project implementation.
Technical & Systems
Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) store energy for later use. You need BESS if: (1) You want to shave your peak demand charges, (2) You need backup power for critical operations, or (3) You want to maximise your rooftop solar investment by using solar energy at night.
As a rough guide, you need about 6-8 square meters of usable roof space per kWp of solar capacity installed. Our assessment will map your actual roof area, shading, and structural integrity to determine the maximum viable system size.
We design installations to minimise disruption. Most commissioning and grid tie-ins can be scheduled during your planned maintenance windows or off-peak hours to ensure zero operational downtime.
Financial & ROI
For commercial Solar PV, the payback period is typically between 3 to 5 years, depending on your tariff and self-consumption rate. When combined with BESS for peak shaving, the payback can vary based on the delta between peak and off-peak tariffs. We model this precisely during the assessment.
Yes. As part of Cape EMS Berhad, we are trailblazers in sustainable finance. We can explore progressive financing mechanisms, such as Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), leasing, or even tokenized green infrastructure notes, making the transition to clean energy seamless and cash-flow positive.
